Upon arrival for your PCO/Taxi medical, you will be asked to take a short questionnaire about your medical history. You will also be asked to provide your driving licence.
One of our doctors will carry out a full medical assessment. They will also ask you some questions about your medical history and any current medical conditions.
If you have any medical conditions, the doctor will need to assess how these could affect your driving. For instance, if you have diabetes, the doctor will need to check that your blood sugar levels are well controlled.
Please note — medical conditions which could affect your application:
Insulin treated diabetes, Epilepsy, Poor Vision, History of severe mental health problems (including drug or alcohol abuse), Heart problems, Neurological or neurosurgical disorders (strokes, blackouts, head injuries), Certain prescribed medication.
*Please also note there is no definitive yes or no whether your application will be accepted as each case is dealt with on an individual basis by TFL.
